IP67 Electronics Testing and Sealed Device Testing
IP67 is an electronics and sealed device attribute requirement with a physical no-water ingress testing process used to determine whether components meet the requirements needed to receive an IP (ingress protection) rating. Devices with this internationally recognized rating resist exposure to dust and withstand up to 30 minutes of submersion in water up to 40 inches (1 meter) in depth. Products assigned an IP67 rating are typically used in outdoor applications or other environments requiring resistance to dust, moisture, and water submersion.
IP67 Testing for Manufacturing Waterproof, Dust-Free Products
Manufacturers use various types of electronics testing instruments for waterproof testing and to ensure compliance with IP67 standards. These instruments use different testing methods such as pressure decay, vacuum leak, tracer gas leak, and others to test seal integrity in a controlled setting.
Your business’ product quality, warranty cost, and overall reputation all depend on your ability to ensure your sealed components are sealed from contamination or leakage. CTS offers a highly accurate solution for leak testing your sealed components to IP67 standards, allowing you to focus your valuable attention elsewhere.
The Sentinel I28, LPC 528 and Sentinel MH CTS instruments support IP67 leak testing for sealed devices and sub-assemblies during a manufacturing process.
Benefits of Sealed Device Leak Testing and Waterproof Testing
IPXX ingress testing benefits manufacturers across a broad range of industries, from consumer goods to the military. Our leak testing systems and instruments provide an ideal solution for ingress protection testing and help ensure sub-assemblies and final sealed parts conform to IP67 or other IPXX ingress contamination.
- Dry and non-destructive leak test
- Provides sensitivity to detect very small leaks
- Provides protection from over pressurization
- Can be performed with air pressure or vacuum
IP67 Electronics Testing Ensures the Integrity of Sealed Components
Exposure to dust and moisture cause several issues, including corrosion, electrical shorts and shock, internal condensation, performance issues, and operational failure. Waterproof leak testing for electronics to IP67 specifications can prevent these issues and improve the performance of a wide variety of products, including:
- Adapters, Cables, and Connectors
- Gauges
- Diving and Underwater Gear
- Speakers
- Watches
